Nawā

In Arabic, Nawā means both “seed” and “intention,” sharing the spirit of music; a nucleus where different influences meet and a common desire to tell stories through it. As the seed of poetic intention, a reflection on trees: a poem written by Sarra Douik tells of an old tree that transfers water, air, and the wisdom of its life to the younger trees around it. As a seed, Nawā symbolizes origin and essence, the inner core of who we are amid layers of inherited culture, history, and memory. As an intention, the word evokes the will to move, to overcome boundaries and to imagine a different future. In this double meaning, Nawā captures the tension between rootedness and movement, memory and transmission, becoming the metamorphosis of lives shaped by migration, displacement and the search for self through ever-changing landscapes.
