Nicolò Balducci, Dan Laurin, Dolci Affetti Ensemble | Amore Dolore

A non-conformist castrato: Filippo Finazzi in 18th-century musical Europe

The concert offers the rediscovery of the castrato soprano and composer Filippo Finazzi, one of A. Vivaldi’s favourite singers, active in the first half of the 18th century in Venice, and later in Prague, Leipzig and Hamburg. Finazzi’s music is influenced by the Neapolitan School, of which the concert offers unknown pearls.
