Sonoma combines the Greek term soma (body) and the Latin term sonum (sound) to create a work born from the need to return to the origin, to the body, to flesh. From that flesh and organic matter, one can lose oneself in a journey flowing between dreams and fiction, where the human meets the incredible. The surrealism of Luis Buñuel, along with references to an almost medieval dimension, creates a setting straddling Jesuit faith and surrealist freedom, forming the basis of a choreography in which 9 dancers take center stage: almost always united, they change costumes according to imaginative forms that reference Spanish culture, religious sects, and rural communities. Floral motifs are replaced by the dark black of penitents and mourning, and by the pure whiteness of long childlike dresses topped with floral crowns.

Sonoma is therefore the cry of man subjected to this rhythm, the limit of his existence; it is here that the primitive lament of the body emerges, the heartbeat of humanity striving to survive and feel alive.
