On November 3, the Teatro Grande Ensemble will once again tackle a “late” Brahms, the String Quintet Op. 111, where the material is sublimated with extreme refinement and maximum depth. Preceded by the very young Milhaud, in one of his early works: fresh, deliberately naive, with the desire to make a clean sweep of the old masters, almost parodying tradition.
