The autumn season is enriched by a music event with both artistic and charitable value, organised in collaboration with Comune di Brescia and Festival della Pace.
L’Orchestra del mare will be the protagonist: a group of musicians from Brescia brought together for this occasion to play the instruments that will be specially made available for the concert on Saturday 30 November at 8 p.m. in the Sala Grande of the Theatre. The selected musicians will in fact use instruments made in the Opera prison lutherie, with wood from the boats with which migrants have crossed the Mediterranean.
With this event, the Fondazione del Teatro Grande, Comune di Brescia and Festival della Pace intend to support the activities of the Fondazione Casa dello Spirito e delle Arti, which – founded in 2012 by Arnoldo Mosca Mondadori and Marisa Baldoni – dedicated to projects that attempt to offer opportunities of redemption and support to people in prison and in a state of great fragility through training and work.
The concert also intends to draw attention to the drama of migrants who, fleeing from wars, climate change, famine or even just in search of a different future, challenge death in the Mediterranean Sea.
Saturday 30 November will therefore be a charity event: the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Metamorfosi project of the Fondazione Casa dello Spirito e delle Arti, which finances violin-making workshops in the prisons of Opera, Secondigliano, and Monza.
