In these dramatic and shocking hours, the Fondazione del Teatro Grande of Brescia expresses its solidarity with the Ukrainian artists, cultural institutions and concrete support for the courageous Ukrainian population severely affected by the war.
The Foundation has therefore decided to donate the entire proceeds of the concert with the artists Joshua Bell and Shai Wosner, scheduled for March 23 at the Teatro Grande, to the special Ukraine fund of the Croce Bianca in Brescia for humanitarian purposes.
An exceptionally talented duo of musicians Joshua Bell and Shai Wosner will perform on stage in the Great Hall. Joshua Bell is one of the most acclaimed violinists of his time and has performed with all the most important musical realities in the world. Among other accolades, he received a Grammy Award (2018) and 5 other Grammy nominations, as well as winning the Avery Fisher Prize in 2007. Pianist Shai Wosner has collaborated with the most famous conductors and throughout his career has won the Martin E. Segal Award from Lincoln Center, the Avery Fisher Career Grant and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust.
The program that the duo will propose at the Teatro Grande inlcudes in the first part the execution of the Sonata n. 1 in D major for violin and piano by Franz Schubert and Sonata for violin and piano n. 7 in C minor op. 30 n. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven. After the intermission, the duo will perform Baal Shem. Three paintings of Cassidic life by Ernest Bloch and the Sonata n. 2 in G major for violin and piano by Maurice Ravel.
In the faint hope of a future of peace, March 23 will be a night addressed to all the citizens of Brescia so that with their presence the clear opposition to this war and the shared closeness to the Ukrainian population prevail.
