How to deny that the success of the baroque repertoire is inextricably linked to the greatness of its singers? In the eighteenth century, most of the operas were acclaimed not thanks to their composers but also for the voices that sung them. Farinelli, Carestini, Nicolini, Senesino, Farfallino are the legendary names of five of the most important vocal stars of that century. Italians, based in Florence and Naples, known for their incomparable virtuosism, some of the most beautiful arias ever written were for them. This program wants to revive that extraordinary legacy. Raffaele Pe’s unique voice, accompanied by his Lira di Orfeo, takes on for the first time the challenge of performing in a single concert those pieces of music by Vivaldi, Händel, Broschi and Vinci.
With this project, Raffaele Pe starts a three-year journey of artistic collaboration with the Fondazione del Teatro Grande.
