MUSIC FOR SÓLARIS

A project originated by a collaboration between Brian Eno and Ben Frost (founders, with Nico Muhly and Valgeir Sigurðsson from the collective Bedroom Community), Music For Sólaris inserts itself within the Rolex  Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative and has been presented to the Unsound Festival (Cracow and New York) in 2011.

Written by Ben Frost and Daníel Bjarnason, Music for Sólaris is inspired by Andrej Tarkovskij famous movie and by writer Stanisław Lem novel. On the stage playing with Frost (electric guitar and laptop) and Bjarnason (direction and prepared piano), also the Orchestra da Camera di Brescia di Filippo Lama, a string orchestra composed by 26 elements and 2 drummers .

On the background the suggestive images of Tarkovskij Solaris will be shown, manipolated and rielaborated by Brian Eno and Nick Robertson, creating a parallel vision with the music execution process.
