- THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION
In 1917, exhausted by the defeats of the Great War and unable to manage the desperate conditions of the people, the Russian Empire collapsed. The civil war and the revolt against a czar who was more and more distant from the reality of their people lead first to a bourgeois revolution and then, within a few months, a proletarian and communist one, under the leadership of the Soviets. Half a continent changes its nature.
Angelo D’Orsi is a Professor of History of Political Thought at the University of Turin.
The show is part of the Il Teatro Grande initiative for schools and universities.
