On the 21st and the 22nd of October (8PM and 3.30PM), the Teatro Grande will host the historical and prestigious company Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, born in 1985 thanks to the Princess of Hannover and directed by Jean-Christophe Maillot. The project that the company will take to Brescia will be Cinderella, on the music by Sergej Prokof’ev, choreography and direction by Jean-Christophe Maillot. Les Ballets de Monte Carlo offers a somehow unique Cinderella, different to the usual seen in the ballet; the originality will be in part in the importance given to the relationship mother/father of the protagonist, generally absent or reduced to weak characters in the classic story, that Maillot transforms into the main engine of the story itself. A choice that made Maillot’s Cinderella one of the choreographies that marked a turining point in the history of the Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo.
