LA BOHÈME

Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème will open 2015 Opera and Ballet Season of Teatro Grande di Brescia with a staging made by Leo Muscato created for Macerata Opera Festival and awarded with the prestigious Abbiati Award in 2012. For the first time in Brescia, this production will be settled indoor and specifically adapted for Teatro Grande. The opera will debut on October 2nd at 8.30 pm and will be repeated on October 4th for the traditional 3.30 pm matinée. La Bohème is one of the public’s most beloved operas and is back to to Teatro Grande after six years.

The Orchestra is directed by Pomeriggi Musicali with Giampaolo Bisanti on the podium. Master Bisanti, well-known in the national and international context (Bisanti will debut at Zurigo Opernhaus next autumn), has received critics and audience approval in his numerous Bohème directions. Opera’s direction, committed to Leo Muscato, shows a modern angle, dynamic and poetic at the same time, framing a time of Italian history, the 60s, which better suits to Bohèmienne happenings. Stage costumes has Silvia Aymonino sign, scenes made by Federica Parolini and lights by Alessandro Verazzi. Scheduled as Rodolfo, the young tenor Matteo Lippi, winner of “Toti Dal Monti” 2012 Contest for the same role, will sing at Teatro Grande of Brescia after recent success at Moscow Bolshoi (still with Bohème), and at Venice Fenice Theater as Alfredo in the Traviata opera. By his side, a talented and rising young cast: Maria Teresa Leva as Mimì, Sergio Vitale as Marcello, Larissa Wissel as Musetta, particularly beloved by Teatro Grande because of her public debut at Festa dell’Opera first edition in 2012 (Larissa Wissel also won the As.Li.Co Contest in “Esordienti” category last year); Alessandro Spina as Colline, Paolo Ingrasciotta as Schaunard and Paolo Maria Orecchia in a double role as Benoît and Alcindoro. In addition to OperaLombardia Theater also Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia takes part to the coproduction.
