Il Barbiere di Siviglia

The second appointment with the opera, staged on October 15th and 17th, will be with Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini which has not been performed in Brescia since 2011. Rossini’s famous comic opera is certainly one of the most loved works: in two centuries that have passed since its first staging, Il Barbiere di Siviglia has conquered audiences all over the world and has lent itself to the most diverse contexts without losing over the years the extraordinary comic verve that distinguishes it. Direction, sets and costumes of the new staging will be entrusted to Ivan Stefanutti, an established Italian opera director who ranges from the great repertoire to less frequent titles, up to contemporary opera. Maestro Jacopo Rivani, former assistant of Maestro Zedda for the production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia on the occasion of the bicentenary of the composition in Pesaro, will coordinate musicians and singers on the notes of the Rossini score. The lights will be curated by the light designer Fiammetta Baldiserri. The artistic cast – made up of some of the winners of the 71st As.Li.Co. for Young Opera Singers of Europe – will see in the role of the protagonist Gianni Luca Giuga and alongside him Chiara Tirotta (Rosina), Matteo Roma (Conte), Enrico Maria Marabelli (Bartolo), Alberto Comes (Basilio), Pierpaolo Martella (Fiorello), Tiberia Monica Naghi (Berta), Federico Pinna (Ambrogio) and Pietro Miedico (Officer).
