Animale is a powerful and poetic work signed by Italian choreographer Francesca Foscarini, awarded with Premio Danza & Danza 2018, and by playwright Cosimo Lopalco. Created for the French dancer Roman Guion, the solo – that debuted at Biennale Danza of Venice in 2018 – is inspired by Antonio Ligabue works, his animals scenes and his self-portraits. The artists explore the etymological root that combines “anima” and “animale”, reflecting on the meaning of otherness, and compose scenes of disruptive emotions where human World and Animal one are pictured in interweaving insticts, fears and hopes.
