Ensemble del Teatro Grande

The Teatro Grande Ensemble’s 2024 season focuses on the figure of Ludwig van Beethoven. One of the ‘inventors’ of chamber music as we understand it today.
The February concert examines the Trio ensemble, which undergoes a real revolution with Beethoven: the roles still associated with Baroque music are abandoned, the cello voice becomes autonomous and dialogues on an equal footing with the other instruments. The trio takes on the power of an orchestra and the expressive depth of a string quartet. The piano is the driving force, but in the dialogue with the strings the most exciting moments are reached.
