Aida by Giuseppe Verdi is the last opera proposed on 6th and 8th December. This is a unique opportunity for the audience of Brescia because this particular play is not usually performed in the circle of the “Theatres of Tradition”. The last performance of Aida in Brescia took place in 1957. The enduring masterpiece byGiuseppe Verdi has the touch of the great Master Franco Zeffirelli. Back in 2001, he handled the opening night for the centenary of the Teatro Verdi in Busseto. His great directing style was taken up to work again by Stefano Trespidi, while the original costumes by Anna Anni have been reconsidered by Lorena Marin. The choreograpic composition was realised by Luc Bouy while the lights were cured by Fiammetta Baldiserri. The orchestra will be directed by Francesco Cillufo, a young director of great fame. Back in 2018 he run the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi in the diptych La voix humaine/Cavalleria Rusticana which is now performed in the well-known playbills of the most famous theatres and european festivals. The cast sees the young and successful voices of Maria Teresa Leva (main character), Cristina Melis (Radamès), Leo Kim (Amonasro), Fabrizio Beggi (Ramfis) and Francesco Milanes (King of Egypt).
The staging was realised for the Theatre of Busseto in occasion of the first death centenary of Giuseppe Verdi, it was used also by the Teatro Regio of Parma in co-producton with OperaLombardia circuit.
